Serena Capilli is the inspiration behind the blog www.italianpills.com where for the past ten years has helped students learn Italian through creative and intelligent means.

It seems that the cause of the fire was a short circuit.

I morsetti delle batterie vanno protetti dal rischio di cortocircuito.
The battery terminals shall be protected against the risk of short circuits.

Enunciation is very important in ALL languages!

To sound like an Italian native remember to work on your Italian vowel sounds. It sounds basic but you need to master the Italian Alphabet—enunciate vowels correctly! For double consonants hold the sound a beat longer. If you don't, you could be saying an entirely different word! Take for example:

Sono - I am
Sonno - sleepy
Sogno - dream

Sera - evening
Serra - greenhouse
Sara - a person's name

Sette - number 7
Sete - thirst

Anno - year
Ano - anus (yikes!)

There are so many choices for studying Italian online these days and @cultura_italiana_arezzo is at the top of my list because it offers some really interesting options: Advanced Reading Courses, Conversation Courses, Learn Italian through Opera, and even a Small Group Immersion Program at the school with me!!
